Unfinished Short Story

Cafe Daydream

I remember that  I met him two years ago in a coffee shop near by the Maryglots lake. Friday night with Barry Manillow’s famous song on the played accompanied me sitting alone at the seat by the window. The drizzles outside became my sight view while I was waiting for my chocolate milkshake to arrive because I had nothing to be done since my phone out of battery. People’s crowded footsteps could be heard clearly by me. I looked up the café’s door every time the people passed by. Suddenly, someone that was familiar appeared through the door alone. He looked similar with someone I knew. I observed him from top to toe. A bit messy brown hair fit his small face. He wore a moss green inner turtle neck with a dark brown long coat and black skinny pants; all were perfect but one, his puffy grey slipper. He walked straight to the order table, I didn’t what he was order he did it by pointing at the menu screen and comb his hair at the same time. Then, he looked around to decide which table he would to sit. It startled me and I straightway plumped my face with my jacket. I was afraid he would notice me. A minute later I heard a creaking chair, I slowly turn my head behind, empty. I turned to the left, nobody’s there. Finally, with my eyes close, I turned to the right and sluggishly re-opened my eyes; Tadaaaa He sat next to me. It’s dumbfounded me. He stared at me and awkwardly said
 “Hello”.
“Hi!” I replied.
Then, The Ice walls blocked between us. I thought hardly, trying to find the topic to start the conversation. A thousand question popped out of my mind, even to start the conversation was a big deal for me. If I didn’t encourage myself to make it, I thought I would miss the chance. I knew him. There’s nothing to worry about. So, after I took a deep breath, I started.
“Are you waiting for your meals?”
“Not really, it’s a cup of lemon tea”
“So yeah, do you know me?”
Wait. Wait. I’ve made a mistake. I shouldn’t say that. I’d better to tell him that I know him first. What should I do?
“Umm, I don’t think I know who you are. I’m sorry. Do we ever meet in any occasion?”
He totally DIDN’T RECOGNIZE me.
“Ahh, maybe it’s been a long time ago. It’s okay. Actually, we were on the same generation at the same class from junior high school. We…” He cut me off
“Oh my lord! Cassie! Ohh Cassie! I’m sorry that I didn’t recognize you immediately. Yes, True! We’re classmate! How are you Cassie!”
“Yeah, Kavin! it’s me Cassie. I’m fine,I’m good, how about you? You look different  now, I mean like you are always gorgeous, but now more than I’ve ever expected!”
“Oh thank you Cassie, I’m doing well too. I’m so happy to meet you here. Well, what are you doing here?”
“It’s  Friday night. No party, just do my routine me time. Hahaha. How about you? Aren’t  you chilling with your family or friends? ”
“Hahaha that’s what you always do, Cassie. Never change. Me? I’d love to if I can. I have a photoshoot at The Grand Coaster across this café, it’s a break time, so I come here.”
“So, you are a model! You are so cool!”
“No, I‘m not. I am a photographer, Cassie.”
It was embarrassing.
“Oh wow, that’s better. So how are you doing after you graduated from junior high school, Kavin. I thought you were going to the White University together with your close friends, but I’ve never seen you with the gangs”
“I went overseas to follow my Grandfather, Cassie. I went to Japan. It was not easy actually. Luckily I succeeded to through it”
“How can? Japan is nice, isn’t it? What’s make it hard, Kavin?”
“Yeah!Japan is awesome. It’s gonna be breathtaking if I go for traveling or spend my time in holiday. But it’s different if you are there to live. It’s quite like you live in different part of the world. You’ll meet much thing that is totally different. The hardest part is being apart with my family and all of my friends.  I really miss them and homesick was my close friend. It happened all the time.”
“I see. So, were you feeling unhappy to live in Japan?”
“Yeah, I was quiet feeling that way. Fortunately, that feeling weren’t last. This country provides me many things to be explored. My passion right now is photography. I found this when I was exhausted and desperately missing my family I always watch the night sky full of the stars at night on top of my school building after I done my math class. The sky was beautiful, and I thought I had to capture it not just as the memories. I tried to take the picture with my phone camera, but the stars didn’t appeared. Darkness was the issues, so I had to find out the way to shoot a photo of it and learned the photography.”
His story stunned me. The best part that I’ve never imagine before is he shared the story with me. I was feeling honor. I mean like, I was nobody. Honestly, I had a crush on him since we were freshman. But we’ve never had an intense communication to share each other stories at that time. That was the reason why I felt that way.
“I am happy to hear that. Now, you’re professional, right? So, you’re specialty is nature or astronomy or what?”
“emm, I’m worry that I don’t have any specialty. At the beginning, I’d love to take pictures of space things. The best art that I have ever taken when I lived in Japan was moonlight’s reflection on a pond sold at amazon for £140.99. I also had joined some photography competition and my Bee’s hexagonal photo won the international contest. I currently worked for human pictorial. So yeah. Cassie I’m sorry, I am too excited if I talk about photography”
“that’s fine, it’s really interesting listening to your experiences. Your Journey was…”
Our order arrived. Yeah, the conversation made the waiting feeling short. I took a shot of my chocolate milkshake, whereas Kavin set got a big bite of beef burgers and drink a sip of orange juice. He offered me the food, but I refused him, because I’m on diet actually. He continued the conversation.

to be continue.
probably will never be continue.

Viola vs Violin

VIOLA VS VIOLIN Being a fan of classical music gives me new the knowledge of some instruments. Even though I am not a musician, I am interested in classical instruments and orchestra. One of the instruments that attract me the most is Violin. Before I go deeper to know more about violin, I thought violin is the English translation of Biola in Indonesia and had no clues about viola, but after I watched some YouTube videos and did some web-surfing, I realized that viola and violin are two different instruments. Here are some differences and similarities between those look alike instruments. If I catch a glimpse of both instruments, they look like twin. I might call viola as violin and other way around. But if we observe the details, their differences on physical appearances are obvious. The wooden materials and accessories such as case, bow, strings, tuner, chin and shoulder rest might deceive us, but if we look further on their size, measurements and clef I can tell they ar...
